1. Our Safety Commitment

BookaBoss is committed to promoting safe, respectful, and lawful work environments across Canada.

  • We connect verified commercial contractors with clients for professional services including demolition, electrical, plumbing, and renovations.
  • All users must comply with applicable federal and provincial workplace laws.
  • Safety is a shared responsibility between clients and service providers.
  • We are committed to maintaining a platform built on compliance, accountability, and trust.

2. Compliance With Federal and Provincial Law

BookaBoss operates in accordance with Canadian legal standards, including but not limited to:

  • The Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
  • Provincial workers’ compensation requirements administered by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB)

Important Clarifications

  • Service providers/contractors are independent businesses and are responsible for complying with all applicable Ontario safety regulations.
  • Providers are responsible for maintaining appropriate insurance coverage, including WSIB registration where required or equivalent private coverage where legally permissible.
  • BookaBoss operates as a technology marketplace platform and does not supervise, control, or manage on-site work activities.

3. Provider Responsibilities

All contractors using BookaBoss must:

  • Comply with all applicable workplace health and safety laws and regulations.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to gloves, helmets, safety boots, eye protection, and fall protection where required.
  • Maintain valid trade licenses, certifications, and permits as required under Ontario or federal law.
  • Carry and maintain appropriate commercial general liability insurance and workers’ compensation coverage.
  • Conduct site hazard assessments prior to commencing work.
  • Follow all electrical, plumbing, demolition, and building code requirements applicable to the project.
Providers have the right to refuse unsafe work. If a job site presents unsafe conditions or legal non-compliance, contractors are entitled to decline or suspend work until the issue is corrected.

4. Client Responsibilities

Clients booking services through BookaBoss must:

  • Provide safe and lawful access to the worksite.
  • Disclose known hazards, including structural instability, hazardous materials, electrical risks, chemical exposure, pets, or other environmental dangers.
  • Ensure adequate lighting, ventilation, and clear walkways.
  • Obtain required permits where applicable (unless contractually assigned to the contractor).
  • Refrain from requesting illegal, unlicensed, or unsafe work.
  • Maintain respectful and professional conduct toward contractors.
Failure to provide a safe work environment may result in suspension or removal from the platform.

5. Prohibited Activities

BookaBoss strictly prohibits:

  • Illegal services or work in violation of building codes.
  • Hazardous industrial operations without proper certification and regulatory compliance.
  • Licensed trade work performed without verified credentials.
  • Unsafe work at heights without proper fall protection systems.
  • Requests to bypass inspections, permits, or regulatory oversight.
  • Harassment, discrimination, threats, or unsafe conduct toward any user.
Violations may result in immediate account suspension or permanent removal.

6. Incident Reporting

If a safety issue occurs:

  • Stop work immediately if conditions are unsafe.
  • Seek emergency assistance if required.
  • Document the situation where safe to do so.
  • Report the incident to BookaBoss at: safety@bookaboss.ca

Reports should include:

  • Date and location of the incident
  • Description of the issue
  • Photos (if available)
  • Whether emergency services were contacted

BookaBoss reviews all safety reports and may take appropriate action, including account suspension pending investigation.


7. Emergency Guidance

In case of emergency, call 911 immediately.

BookaBoss is not an emergency response service and does not provide real-time safety intervention.


8. Insurance & Liability Disclaimer

  • BookaBoss is a technology platform that connects independent commercial contractors with clients.
  • Contractors operate as independent businesses and are solely responsible for their work methods, safety practices, licensing compliance, and insurance coverage.
  • BookaBoss does not employ contractors and does not supervise or control on-site operations.
  • Users are responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable municipal, provincial, and federal laws.
