Cancellation & Refund Policy

By registering for the Program and signing up, and by your continued participation in it, you agree to these Terms and Conditions, including any amendments which may be made by BookaBoss from time to time in its sole discretion. Please review these Terms and Conditions carefully, and return to the Program Website regularly to check for amendments. BookaBoss is committed to serving your needs and appreciates your business. BookaBoss reserves all rights to amend and update the cancellation policy.

BookaBoss operates as a peer-to-peer marketplace connecting clients with independent contractors for services and facilitating tool rentals between owners and renters. BookaBoss acts strictly as an intermediary and is not the direct service provider or equipment owner.

A. Time-Based Cancellation Windows

1. Services (Contractors)

• 48+ hours before scheduled service → Full refund
• 24–48 hours before → Partial refund (50%)
• Less than 24 hours before → No refund, except in the event of a verified emergency

2. Tool Rentals

• 72+ hours before scheduled rental → Full refund
• 24–72 hours before → Partial refund (50%)
• Same day pickup → No refund

B. No-Show Policy

• Client no-show: Full charge applies
• Contractor no-show: Full refund to client + potential penalties for contractor
• Tool renter no-show: Security deposit may be forfeited
• Tool owner no-show: Refund to renter + platform discretion for penalties

C. Emergency Exceptions

Certain unforeseen events qualify for special consideration:

• Medical emergency: Verified via documentation or official notice
• Severe weather: Government-issued alerts affecting travel or service
• Government restriction: Legal or regulatory prohibitions preventing performance
• Death in the family: Documentation may be requested

D. Rescheduling vs. Cancellation

BookaBoss encourages rescheduling over cancellation whenever possible. Rescheduling allows service providers and tool owners to retain revenue, keeps platform transactions active, and preserves the integrity and reliability of the marketplace.

Clients may reschedule once free of charge, provided notice is given at least 24–48 hours in advance. Rescheduling requests beyond this window may incur partial fees at the platform's discretion.

E. Special Considerations for Tool Rentals

1. Security Deposits

Required for all tool rentals. Amount: 50% of the tool's value. Held by BookaBoss during the rental period.

This protects against:

• Damage
• Late return
• Theft

3. Damage & Inspection Window

• Inspection must be reported within 24 hours of return
• Photo evidence is required for all damage claims

F. Special Considerations for Contractor Services

1. Contractor Reliability Score

Excessive cancellations are monitored as follows:

• Warning on 3rd cancellation
• Temporary suspension on 6th cancellation
• Permanent removal on 10th cancellation

2. Client Abuse Protection

Clients who frequently cancel at the last minute:

• Warning on first instance
• Restriction on second instance
• Removal on third instance

G. Platform Fee Handling

• Early cancellation: Full refund including platform fee
• Late cancellation: Platform retains fee; contractor receives 3.5% of gross booking

This ensures platform revenue is protected even when bookings are disrupted.

H. Dispute Resolution System

• Disputes must be filed within 48 hours of cancellation or return
• Evidence such as photos or chat logs must be provided
• Platform decision is final and binding

I. Legal & Compliance (Canada Context)

• Refund timelines comply with federal and provincial consumer protection laws
• Clear disclosure is required before payment
• No hidden fees are permitted
• BookaBoss is not liable for performance of services or condition of rented tools
• Users indemnify BookaBoss from all claims related to service performance or tool usage

J. Account Penalties for Repeated Abuse

• Penalties may be applied for repeated last-minute cancellations or failures to comply with policies
• Platform reserves the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts as necessary
